Creative media shop PopDigital Sdn Bhd, the originators of The Cooler Lumpur Festival which debuted last year, has linked up with The British Council to collaborate on this year’s iteration of the multi-disciplinary cultural festival.
The memorandum of understanding signed between the two will lead to a bigger and better Cooler Lumpur, to be held at the Publika shopping gallery in Solaris Dutamas from June 20 to 22. The Cooler Lumpur Festival will turn Publika into a campus of ideas, where professionals and enthusiasts alike from various creative backgrounds will meet to share ideas and work on innovations.
Last year’s Cooler Lumpur Festival gravitated around the theme #WORD, giving it a literary slant and flipping a spotlight on the written and spoken word. 2014’s theme, #FAST, will in turn focus on interactivity, the rapid spreading and cultivation of ideas, and will expand the progress made during last year’s festival.
“British Council is committed to developing creative leaderships, professional networks and cultural educational programmes through our work in the Arts,” said British Council Malaysia Country Director Gavin Anderson. “This falls into our efforts for cultural relations or building trust between UK and Malaysia, as well as connecting the sector with our presence in other countries in the East Asia region.”
