You will not believe how much the iPhone 6 Plus is selling for in Subang

The iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus became available to the market on September 19, but as with most gadgets in Malaysia, there’s a bit of a wait if you want to get one for yourself through a telco or an authorised dealer.

However, social media has been abuzz with accounts of DirectD, a popular third-party smartphone retailer in Subang Jaya, stocking a surprisingly large amount of iPhone 6s and iPhone 6 Pluses, and had them ready for sale on September 20, just 24 hours after worldwide release.

But before you rush off to get Apple’s latest and greatest for yourself, be warned: Lowyat.net reports that DirectD was selling the 64GB variant of the iPhone 6 Plus for a brainmelting price of RM7800.

That’s, like, five Nexus 5s. And way  higher than the suggested retail price in Japan (RM2700) or France (RM3810).

Despite the exorbitant price tag, DirectD seems to have burned through its entire stock of iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus phones over the weekend. Amazing.
