Reports of ‘fake eggs’ in Malaysia cause worry

Once upon a time on the Internet, fake eggs became a ‘thing’. And to the horror of netizens, these things were said to be sold in the domestic market.

Enter the Health Ministry, which jumped in to rubbish these claims.

Its director-general Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah stressed, in a Bernama report, that there were no fake eggs on sale here.

He said the ministry had already conducted an investigation into such claims.

“The people should come forward if there were doubts on the authenticity of eggs, by reporting to the food safety and quality division, state health department or the nearest district health offices,” he said.

Members of the public may submit their complaints to the home ministry at http://fsq.moh.gov.my.
