Police are investigating the possibility of a murder following the discovery of human skeletal remains at a construction site in Jalan Temerloh in Titiwangsa.
The skull and bones were found buried 1.2 metres deep by workers conducting digging operations to build a gym and laboratory on the site.
Acting Wangsa Maju district police chief Deputy Superintendent Asmadi Abdul Aziz told Harian Metro the skull and bone fragments were then collected by construction crewmembers before they informed police of their discovery.
“Initial forensic checks indicate the skull has been buried for about five years. It has been sent to Kuala Lumpur Hospital (HKL) for a post-mortem,” he said.
“The workers at the construction site have told us that the site of the discovery used to be the location of foreign workers’ quarters,” Asmadi added.
Further investigations will be conducted on the remains today, including DNA sample collection, to determine the gender and identity of the deceased.
