The recent spate of school bullying cases caught on phone cameras has been depressing, to say the least. Kids hardly hitting puberty are lashing out on their classmates, and no one even seems to know why.
This is not one of those videos – quite the opposite, in fact.
The guys from Fusion Malaysian on YouTube have put out a truly kickass anti-bullying video, featuring a cast of local kids who are more than able to hold their own in an MMA ring.
The video starts out with a typical (if atypically well-shot) schoolyard bully case, up until one plucky Form Two student whips out moves that wouldn’t be out of place in The Raid: Redemption, all in defense of a hapless friend.
In an admirable bit of gender equality, the bullies in the video also get their asses handed to them by a couple of girls – in tudungs, no less!
While the issue of shool bullying is a serious and worrying one, a light-touch, adrenaline-drenched PSA such as this should go along way to raise public awareness. Good on the Fusion Malaysian team for turning the tables on bullies – we have to admit, we threw a fist pump in the air once or twice through our viewing.
