Famed ‘Roti Benggali’ bakery in Penang disgusts officers, sealed for two weeks

A popular bakery in Penang, well known for its ‘Roti Benggali’ has been sealed for two weeks following the discovery of rat droppings in its outlet.

The famed outlet at Jalan Datuk Keramat was also found having items resembling human hair kept inside a container with oil which is used to knead the dough, the New Straits Times reports.

Health department officers conducting a spot check at the premises discovered a couple of trolleys with piles of dough kept next to an open toilet, the report said.

There was no sign of rubbish bins for the proper disposal of waste and workers were reportedly tossing excess dough onto the wet floor.
