Teachers charged under Official Secrets Act for possession of leaked UPSR papers

Two teachers in Perak have been charged with illegal possession of Ujian Penilaian Sekolah Rendah (UPSR) examination papers.

K. Anparasu, 50, and M. Uma Mageswari, 27, of SJKT Keruh, Pengkalan Hulu pleaded not guilty to four counts of the offence under the Official Secrets Act 1972, the New Straits Times reports.

They were found with leaked Mathematics and Science papers stored inside their mobile devices during the final primary school assessment in September.

Both teachers face jail time of between one and seven years if found guilty.
