Ridduan Ismail, also known as ttfga (Tukang Tangkap Foto Gembira Anda), is well-regarded as one of KL’s best and most prolific street-style photographers. His work with such fashion luminaries as Jiman Casablancas, Melissa Indot and urban brand Wolfgang have earned him accolades and 15,500 fans on Instagram.
When Ridduan went home to Kelantan, and was caught out in what have become the worst floods in Malaysia’s history, he turned his keen eye on his surroundings, and the results have been breathtaking … and heartbreaking.
The images from his Instagram account over the past week are a beautiful account of what thousands of Malaysians on the east coast are suffering through – from wide-angle documentation of the extent of the flooding in Kelantan, to extremely intimate portraits of flood victims (including Ridduan himself) trying to keep some semblance of normalcy in the face of adversity.
Ridduan has since made his way back to KL, but our prayers for the family and friends he left behind on the east remain.
