SWITCH ON MINI FEST 2015 @ FINDARS, KL

Following the appetizer performances by Heddy Boubaker and Katsura Yamauchi, comes the main event, Switch On Mini Fest 2015, a 2 week festival for electronic & experimental arts, consisting of 2 evenings of engaging sound and music performances, and a 16 day exhibition, plus workshops on sound / music experimentation. The mini festival is taking place at the FINDARS Artist Run Space.

Featuring:

Toshimaru Nakamura defines the experimental music scene of Japan with the use of a no-input mixing board as an electronic music instrument producing a sound without any external audio input, creating unpredictability and indeterminacy. Nakamura appears in over one hundred audio publications throughout the world, performing and recording with numerous other musicians, and a mentor for musicians in Japan. Between1998 to 2003, Nakamura, along with Tetuzi Akiyama, ran the Improvisation concert series at Bar Aoyama and then later the Meeting At Off-Site series of concerts.

Be absolutely mesmerized by Toshimaru Nakamura.

Jason Kahn explores electronic music, vocals and drums, collaborating with many improvisational musicians and exhibiting his art installations in museums, galleries, art spaces and public sites internationally, relating to current politics, social and environmental issues. He performs worldwide, and from 1998 to 2008, he ran the label Cut, releasing 25 CDs with his own work and collaborations with other artists. He later started Editions series to publish his recordings and writings since 2011.

Be awesomely enthralled by Jason Kahn.

Anla Courtis works with sound-art, electro-acoustic music, drone, noise improvisation and music composition, and his written music has been played by ensembles in England, Switzerland, Wales, United States and Latin America. His music / sound experiments uses traditional instruments as well as self-built music equipment, resulting in strange and unusual techniques on sound creation, tape manipulations, field recordings, live electronics, objects, cymbals, synthesizers, computer tools.

Be amazingly stunned by Anla Courtis.
