Found a dirty restaurant? Send us a text, says DBKL

So, the Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) actually has a system for you to lodge complains about dirty eateries via SMS. But nobody’s really using it, as far as figures can tell.

Kuala Lumpur mayor Datuk Seri Ahmad Phesal Talib told the New Straits Times that since the ‘e-adu’ system was launched in 2011, only 135 customers had used the service to report unclean restaurants.

“Therefore we urge the patrons to monitor the eateries and lodge a complaint if they find the food premise they visited was at below satisfactory level,” he was quoted as saying.

Ahmad Phesal added that last year over 480 eateries were ordered to close temporarily due to unhygienic conditions that violated Section 11 of the Food Act 1983.

Tip off DBKL by sending a text message to 15888.
