Update: The Star Online reports that Nurul Izzah has been detained under the Sedition Act 1948, for her statements in Parliament. PKR Central Executive Council member R Sivarasa confirmed this via a tweet:

Nurul Izzah herself tweeted about her arrest:

And she managed to send a short farewell message to her children:

Nurul Izzah Anwar, PKR vice-president and Lembah Pantai member of Parliament, has been arrested at the Dang Wangi police station this afternoon.

The daughter of jailed Opposition leader Anwar Ibrahim was at the police station to give her statement on the #KitaLawan rallies organised by her party.

After she gave her statement, Nurul Izzah was detained. No details have yet emerged on the charges levelled against her.

The #KitaLawan rallies were held to show solidarity for Anwar, currently serving a five-year prison term for sodomy, and to call for his release from what his supporters are calling politically-motivated persecution.
