The KL Monorail service was halted temporarily this morning when a tyre on one of the line’s trains caught on fire at the Titiwangsa station.
KL Fire and Rescue station chief operations officer Shamsol Maarif Saibani told Bernama his crew received a call on the incident at 8.52am; firefighters were on the scene about 5 minutes later.
Three fire engines carrying 22 firefighters were assigned to the scene.
Passengers on board the train were ordered to exit the coaches before the operator of the monorail service, RapidKL, was directed to move the train to a location further away from nearby buildings and structures.
Cleanup work at the station and on the train is still underway at the time of writing.
