Photo: That’s RATM. Don’t worry, you’ll get it in a minute.
The raging back-and-forth between Prime Minister Najib Razak and his predecessor, Dr Mahathir Mohamad is reaching a fever pitch, with both statesmen hurling veiled and not-so-veiled barbs towards each other, sucking in everyone within a five-ministry radius.
So it was that the issue of Parliamentary Speaker Pandikar Amin’s alleged resignation, first outed by Dr Mahathir, then refuted by Pandikar, then admitted to (sort of) by Pandikar (who was asked to reconsider by Najib) has also become the social media speculation du jour.
Which then led to the most glorious headline we’ve seen in a very, very long time, courtesy of Boo Su-Lyn and The Malay Mail Online team. Here it is, screencapped for posterity from our Feedly timeline:
In case you’re too square or too young to get it, that’s a not-so-subtle reference to revolutionary political rap-rock band Rage Against The Machine. Which was used to head an article on Malaysian politics.
Also, poop joke.
GLORIOUS.
Thank you, Ms. Boo and MMO. You win the Internet for at least two weeks.
Now remain calm. Like a bomb:
