Free bus service for Shah Alam, Klang, Subang Jaya from July

From July, residents of Shah Alam, Subang Jaya and Klang can enjoy free bus service as the state government kicks off a project that would enable 24,000 people to commute for free, The Star Online’s Priya Menon reports.

The service will serve those commuting between the three zones and proposed routes have been submitted to the Land Public Transport Commission (SPAD) for approval.

Selangor Investment, Industry (SME) & Commerce and Transportation committee chairman Datuk Teng Chang Khim told the portal that the bus — designed after Petaling Jaya’s PJ City Bus (pic) that was launched last year— is expected to pass through high traffic areas like government buildings, schools, commercial districts and KTM stations.

““The routes planned by MPSJ will also run along the new Kelana Jaya LRT extension. We will not pass through areas that are being serviced by commercial bus operators because we do not want to compete with them,” he was quoted as saying.
