KL roads to be closed for KL City Grand Prix next month

Parts of roads in the city will be closed for the first ever KL City Grand Prix from August 7-9.

The roads affected as Jalan Ampang, Jalan Sultan Ismail, Jalan Raja Chulan, Jalan Perak and Jalan P. Ramlee which will be closed to traffic from 6am to 6pm on race days, Bernama reports.

Organiser GT Global Race (M) Sdn Bhd was quoted as saying in a statement today that a temporary International Automobile Federation (FIA)-approved race circuit would be constructed on the streets of KL.

The race is set to happen through a 3.2km circuit from in front of Suria KLCC through Jalan Ampang, Jalan Sultan Ismail, Jalan Raja Chulan and Jalan Perak. It will then head back to Jalan P. Ramlee.

Over 100,000 people are expected to turn up for the race.
