Yuna among five chosen to perform Olympics song

Here’s a moment to beam with pride: Malaysian songstress Yuna has been chosen to perform the 2016 Olympics promotional song.

She will be one of five singers — including Grammy winner US rock god Lenny Kravitz — lined up to perform the song titled “The Fire”.

Also in the lineup: Diogo Nogueira from Brazil, Nneka from Nigeria and Corrine Bailey Rae from Britain.

“I’m so honored to be a part of their campaign. It was so much fun working with everyone on this song,” Yuna wrote on  Facebook.

Based in Los Angeles, Kedah-born Yuna or Yunalis Mat Zara’ai, 28, recently released a new romantic ballad called “Crush” together with R&B heavyweight, Usher.

“The song is about two people realizing they’re made for each other for the first time. Usher completed the song beautifully. I knew from the moment I listened to the whole song, I had to get Usher on it,” Yuna said in a press release.

Her new album Chapters, is set for a May release. In the meantime, here’s Yuna, featuring Usher:
