Child’s hand trapped in KLIA escalator

A two-year-old boy got his left hand trapped in an escalator at the North Terminal of the Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) on Friday, injuring his wrist.

A Fire and Rescue Department spokesperson told The New Straits Times that they received an emergency call at 8.48pm, but by the time first responders arrived, the airport maintenance crew had already freed the child.

“The victim suffered a minor injury and was sent to a nearby clinic for treatment,” he said.

The boy only had a minor bruise on his arm.
