The private dental clinic where the late Syed Alman Zain Syed Alwi had sought treatment said he had undergone a ‘minor oral surgery’.
In a statement on its Facebook page, the Imperial Dental Specialist Centre said the surgery was performed ‘under sedation with the presence of a trained medical practitioner’.
“We would like to make these statements so as to dispel any public speculations or misconception as to the incident.”
“We hope the public will not speculate otherwise and respect the family privacy during this difficult time,” it said in a post last night and offered condolences to the family of Syed Alman, who was also the son-in-law of Deputy Prime Minister Ahmad Zahid Hamidi.
The 44-year-old, who died two days ago, was married to Ahmad Zahid’s eldest daughter Nurulhidayah.
