An 21-month-old toddler, who was bitten by a snake while playing in the living room on Wednesday, is reportedly in critical condition.
According to The Star Online, the boy, Muhammad Iskandar Muhammad Syukri, was rushed to the hospital after his mother noticed the snake in the living room of their house in Mersing.
Nur Jannah, 17, told the news portal that she was at the back of the house when she heard her son crying at 9pm.
“I found it strange that my son had swelling and a bite mark on him. Then I noticed the snake nearby,” she was quoted as saying.
Nur Jannah then alerted her 19-year-old husband, who reportedly managed to catch and kill the snake before rushing Muhammad Iskandar to the hospital.
