Video of alleged ‘haunting’ in Malacca mosque spooks Netizens

It looks like a mosque in Malacca is experiencing its own creepy ‘The Conjuring’ moment.

Earlier this week, Netizens were spooked by a video purportedly showing a ‘poltergeist’ in action.

The video, which was uploaded by the Jasin Daily Facebook page, was reportedly recorded by a closed-circuit television (CCTV) camera at the Masjid Baru Kampung Tedong located in Malacca.

In the two-minute video, two prayer room partitions were seen gliding across the hallway and swirling frantically by themselves in a random manner.

The mosque’s chairman, Akhbar Ali, told Sinar Harian that the spooky incident was reportedly captured last month, a week before the start of the fasting month.

He also told the Malay daily that he did not upload the spine-chilling video to spook worshippers away from the mosque, but rather to “reflect the greatness of the Almighty as it happened in God’s house”.

The video has since gone viral on Facebook, having been viewed more than 311,000 times.

Meanwhile, Malacca Chief Minister Datuk Seri Idris Haron told the The New Straits Times that he will soon call for an investigation into the clip.

“I will direct the state religious authorities and local scientists to investigate this.

“This is because we do not want the incident to invite various reactions from members of the public especially during the month of Ramadan,” he was quoted as saying.
