Johor declares July 10 as special Hari Raya holiday for state civil servants

The Johor government has declared July 10 a special holiday for all civil servants in the state if Hari Raya Aidilfitri falls on July 6.

The Star Online quoted Menteri Besar Mohamed Khaled Nordin as saying that the state has decided to replace the special holiday for federal civil servants on July 8 with this for state government employees.

Johor observes a Friday-Saturday weekend.

Last week, Chief Secretary to the Government Dr Ali Hamsa announced that federal civil servants would be given an extra day off if Hari Raya falls on July 6.

It would not, however, take effect if the holiday falls on July 5.
