Patient allegedly flashes, molests doctor while receiving treatment

A patient, who was reportedly receiving treatment at a hospital in Malacca, allegedly flashed a female doctor.

According to The Star Online, the 48-year-old patient went to the Malacca Hospital on August 18 and was receiving treatment for injuries on his left thigh when he allegedly exposed his genitals to the shocked doctor.

The patient then allegedly grabbed the doctor’s hand and placed it on his groin, claiming that he also had pain on his private parts.

Frightened, the 26-year-old doctor reportedly left the ward and refused to attend to the patient.

She reportedly lodged a police report the next day.

State Health, Sport Development and Anti-Drugs Committee deputy chairman Datuk Ng Choon Koon told the news portal that the man had regularly frequent the hospital after he reportedly got hurt in an accident.

“From our initial findings, the patient had requested that the doctor close the screen at the ward before flashing at her.

“We also found out that the man had previously tried to get fresh with the nurses but this time he went overboard,” Ng was quoted as saying.

The case is reportedly being investigated under Section 509 of the Penal Code for the offence of trying to insult someone’s modesty.
