Chinese tourists narrowly escape burning bus on the NSE

Boy, this is one holiday they’ll most likely never forget.

A group of 30 tourists from Mainland China narrowly cheated death when the bus they were on suddenly caught fire.

According to The Star Online, the incident happened on Tuesday evening when the vehicle was travelling on the North-South Expressway.

Suddenly, the bus reportedly caught fire.

Fire and Rescue Department operations commander Ramli Said told the news portal that the department received a distress call at about 5.06pm and a team of firemen was immediately dispatched to the scene.

According to Ramli, the bus was already engulfed by the fire by the time the firemen arrived.

“Fortunately, the driver, the tour guide and 30 passengers, all from mainland China, managed to escape unharmed,” he was quoted by the news portal as saying.

Ramli added that the passengers and their guide was transferred to another bus and continued their journey.
