Malaysian footballer Mohd Faid Subri is just one step away from creating history.

The Penang winger’s impossible goal has made it into the final three for the FIFA 2016 Puskas Award, The Star Online reports.

The three finalists in the running for the prestigious award were announced by FIFA on Friday.

With the nomination, the 29-year-old Mohd Faiz became the first ever Malaysian and Asian to make the top three.

Mohd Faiz stunned the footballing world when he scored an insane physics-defying goal from 30 meters out in the 62nd minute of the match against Pahang at the City Stadium on February 16.

Mohd Faiz’s wonder goal will be going up against goals scored by Venezuela’s Daniuska Rodriguez and Brazil’s Marlone.

And this is where Mohd Faiz needs your help, Malaysians!
