Future ISIS bride from Negeri Sembilan caught at KLIA2

After the discovery of Shams – a Malaysian doctor who used social media to chronicle her marriage to an Islamic State (IS) fighter in Syria – police have now caught up with another woman who had planned to marry a fighter in the terror group.

Cops detained the woman from Negeri Sembilan at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport 2 on Sunday after discovering her alleged links to the terror outfit.

The 25-year-old was about to marry a Malaysian man who is a member of the violent militant group in Syria.

According to Bernama, the woman was given RM6,000 by her future husband to travel to the conflict-stricken nation.

The report quoted a police source as saying that she had initially planned on a ticket to Istanbul, Turkey but later changed her route to Brunei instead in order to avoid getting caught.

From Brunei, she had planned to head to the Middle East.

The report said that the Malaysian man waiting for her had a brother who was killed in Syria on Sept 30.

Bernama quoted Inspector-General of Police Khalid Abu Bakar confirming the arrest.
