Mastermind behind Taman OUG killing was a businessman who owed victim RM13mil

The mastermind behind the shooting and killing of Datin Renyce Wong Siu Ling in Taman OUG two weeks ago was a businessman who reportedly owed her RM13 million.

City police chief Datuk Amar Singh told The New Straits Times that the 32-year-old real estate agent wanted to venture into the ceramic business with the businessman, and she gave the money to him and his wife last year.

When she found out later that the business venture was not taking place, she reportedly asked the couple to return the money.

“From investigations, police found that the victim had hired a private investigator to locate the businessman and his wife in her bid to get her money returned.

“Following this, the businessman and his wife engaged the services of two contract killers. This was done via a restaurant owner and his wife, who acted as middlemen,” Amar was quoted as saying during a press conference on Thursday.

According to Amar, the gunmen were reportedly paid RM60,000 to assassinate the victim.

The two gunmen, as well as the couple, were among eight people arrested by a special task force on Wednesday.

The police also reportedly found the weapon, a Glock 19 pistol, used in the shooting when they arrested the suspected killers in Chemor, Perak.

The gun, according to Amar, had also been used in three previous cases, including a murder and an attempted murder in Chemor and Sungai Siput Utara, Perak.

Amar told the daily that the police considered the murder case solved with the suspects’ arrests. However, the police are still on the hunt for another suspect, who was said to be involved in the planning of the murder.
